Warrior II: What 90° Knee Angle Actually Looks Like
Every Warrior II instruction starts the same: "Bend your front knee to 90 degrees." You bend. It feels deep. You think you're there.
You're probably at 120°.
This isn't your fault. Human proprioception — our sense of where our body is in space — is surprisingly inaccurate for angles. Studies show most people overestimate their knee bend by 20-30°.
What 90° actually requires
At 90°, your thigh is parallel to the ground. Your knee is directly over your ankle. Your shin is vertical. It's deeper than most people go in a casual practice.
At 120° (where most people actually are), the thigh is angled down. The knee is behind the ankle. You're getting some benefit, but missing the full hip-opening that makes Warrior II transformative.
See the number
When body tracking shows you "118°" in real-time, you can sink 2 inches deeper and watch it change to "105°." Then a bit more: "95°." You found it — not because someone told you, but because you saw the data and made the choice.
That's the difference between following instructions and understanding your body.
